6 Steps To A Marketing Strategy
1. Define Your Target Audience
Your audience determines your results. Make sure to know your community to speak to them in a way that makes them want to enroll with your brand.
Important Questions to Ask:
Who buys your product the MOST?
What is their age/gender?
What are their common interests/behaviors?
Is your message clear and concise?
Where does my target spend time?
What voices do they trust/listen to?
Know which social media platforms to use to meet your target there
2. Focus On Your Unique Value
Have a business purpose and goals! Know what you want your message to be with the following questions:
What is my “sell’? What are you trying to sell to your customers? Or are you offering a service? Make sure the message you portray across to what you want to sell/offer.
How do you want people to connect with you? This goes back to where you meet your target audience. Make sure your voice is also received in a way that your target audience connects with.
Have a personal story or brand style guide to increase brand awareness
3. Get Your Message Out There
After establishing where you can meet your target audience and what you want your message to be, it is time to pair them together and figure out your marketing techniques. Know where you want to concentrate your promotional efforts and spread your message there.
Example:
Build an email list to send regular emails like updates or sales to your clients! This is also called Email Marketing. A great email marketing tool is MailChimp and Aweber.
Create and manage Facebook groups
Spend money on Ads
4. Have a simple and optimized website
This is an important step! A website is a way to communicate your business and allow others to know what you are selling/offering. Your website has to grab others’ attention by having great content and speak layman's terms that are engaging and easy for anyone to understand. Plus, strategically place keywords within the site that your target audience is searching for.
Ways to drive traffic to your website:
SEO - Make your website be indexed by search engines. Make sure that it contains content (Including keywords and phrases) that you want your targets to first see when they are searching for your products or services. You want your website to appear on search engines and add your business to Google My Business. The title, meta description, and logo icon is CRUCIAL for your site to be optimized.
Backlinks - This is excellent for SEO and you can always link it to your other pages. Also partnering with another business that can link to your site and send you referral traffic is a great way to use backlinks.

Building a content platform through writing and speaking can be achieved in two ways: Core and promotional.
Core builds a voice for you to showcase your expertise and ground authority to your business.
Example: Blogging, IGTV or live videos, podcasts, and email newsletter.
Promotion builds awareness with your community.
